“The three hardest tasks in the world are neither physical feats nor intellectual achievements, but moral acts: to return love for hate, to include the excluded, and to say, “I was wrong.”
– Sydney J. Harris
Understanding diversity and inclusion requires more than a one-off event or training program. It requires discussion, reflection and support to process self-awareness. Our diversity and inclusion
workshops are designed to work with participants, and are based on the amazing work of Dolly Chugh – an award-winning social psychologist and Iris Bohnet – Professor of Public Policy and Academic Dean at Harvard Kennedy School.
“Diversity and inclusion training has the potential to positively address biases and prejudice within organizations”, according to Katerina Bezrukova, co-author of a study that examined 40 years of
research on diversity training and an associate professor at the University at Buffalo’s School of Management. “However, to arrive at these successful outcomes, you must carry out the training
responsibly.”
“At best, it can engage and retain women and people of color in the workplace, but at worst, it can backfire and reinforce stereotypes,” Bezrukova said in a statement.
The results of the study presented in the Harvard business review suggested that there is no one-size-fits-all diversity training and that it takes a lot of careful thought and design to make the program work.
We offer a variety of programs as per the need and requirements of the client. We offer a series of bite-sized sessions, to half or full days intensive programs.
In our workshop we likely reflect on the following from a diversity and inclusion perspective:
1. “Identity Claiming”
2. The growth mindset
3. Psychological Safety
4. Unconscious Bias
5. Systemic Headwinds and Tailwinds – the case of meritocracy
6. The power of Ordinary Privilege
7. Bounded awareness
8. Four modes of behavior that prevents “real” work
9. Inclusion is about the pathways – How to be an inclusive
10. How to conduct inclusive interviews
If your organization is looking for a diversity and inclusion partner, feel free to contact us to discuss
