Work-life balance has been described as an individual’s concept of how well they manage work and non-work-related obligations while having satisfaction, health, and well-being.
(Casper, Vaziri, Wayne, DeHauw, & Greenhaus, 2018).
If society and organizations are to make any progress on the issue, we need an honest debate. But the problem is so many people have a wrong understanding of what work-life balance means and as they keep on applying that wrong understanding to their lives, they become more and more frustrated and feel helpless.
Our Workshop combined with 1:1 coaching sessions for participants starts with an honest and clear understanding of work-life balance and encourages them to acknowledge their unique conditions and how one formula cannot work for all.
Our WLB workshop use a variety of tools from Wheel of Life, to counterbalance, to Johari Window to the urgency index by S.R. Covey.
Our workshop encourages participants to stop looking outside and look inside and take control and responsibility for the type of lives that they want to lead.
We encourage people to make their own quilts…
On an organizational level, we talked about awareness, tools and techniques that teams can use to encourage each other towards a better WLB goal. We encourage organizations to come out of quick fixes and bring on real solutions.
As we remake our models of work in the wake of the pandemic, now is our opportunity to create a new culture that respects time and WLB. The way we used to do things is not the way of the future, but we are discovering so many wonderful things right now, let’s not lose it.
It is time to go forward and rethink the way we work…
